During the Eucharistic celebration on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as part of the Expanded Committee of the Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network (REPAM), the Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) paid special tribute to Monsignor Rafael Cob, bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puyo, Ecuador, and president of REPAM, on the occasion of his Golden Jubilee as a priest.

By presenting him with a commemorative medal, CEAMA expressed its gratitude for his 50 years of dedication to the priestly ministry, his witness of life, and his commitment to the Church’s mission, especially in service to the poorest and most vulnerable.

This recognition also highlights his simplicity, his humanity, and his constant willingness to walk alongside communities, particularly in the Amazon region, where the Church is called to walk alongside the people, listen to their voices, and defend the dignity of life.

Monsignor Rafael Cob’s pastoral career stands as a testament to service and commitment to a Church attuned to the realities of the Amazon, which finds in the preferential option for the poor a concrete expression of the Gospel.

At this time of fraternity and ecclesial communion, CEAMA joins in giving thanks for his five decades of priestly ministry and recognizes his contribution to the journey of the Amazonian Church, as well as his service at the helm of REPAM.

Happy priestly anniversary, Monsignor Rafael Cob!

May the Lord continue to strengthen your vocation and bless your pastoral service. Thank you for your simplicity, your humanity, and your witness of dedication to the preferential service of the poor and the peoples of the Amazon.
