About Us

The Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) is a permanent and representative ecclesial body of the Amazon region.

With four years of existence, our goal is to fulfil the commitments of the Amazon Synod (2019), strengthening and exploring new paths for the evangelising mission with an Amazonian vision of the Church and integrating the proposal of integral ecology in this territory.

Our Mission

The Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) has the mission of promoting synodality and joint pastoral care among the Churches in the Amazon territories.

Promoting interculturality, our goal is to foster an intercultural faith, helping to shape the Amazonian face of the Church, strengthening integral ecology, our common home, and pointing out new paths for the evangelising mission.

Report on the visit of CEAMA and REPAM to Rome, Vatican

From 3 to 7 June 2024, the presidencies of CEAMA and REPAM conducted a historic visit to Rome, culminating in a series of significant meetings, including an audience with Pope Francis and meetings in various dicasteries of the Roman Curia.

This visit marked an important milestone as it was the first official meeting between the pontiff and these sister entities actively working in the Amazon region.
