In continuity with the synodal path that has inspired the Church in the region since 2019, the Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) has decided to resume the original logo of the Synod for the Amazon, as the official image of the next Meeting of Bishops of the Amazon, which will be held from August 17 to 20 in Bogotá, Colombia.

This choice is not merely aesthetic, but deeply symbolic and pastoral: it reaffirms the spiritual, cultural, and ecclesial elements that gave rise to this new stage in the life of the Church with an Amazonian face.

A logo with an Amazonian soul

Created by the Brazilian artist Aurelio Fred, of Studio 15 this logo visually synthesizes the values that inspire the mission of CEAMA and the entire Church in the Pan-Amazon region. Its symbolic richness remains relevant and powerful:

A logo for a key meeting

The Meeting of Bishops of the Amazon, will be a moment of listening, discernment, and articulation, which will seek to strengthen the synodal journey initiated with the Special Synod convened by Pope Francis. By using this logo as the official image, the continuity and validity of the synodal process is reaffirmed, and the living memory of the peoples, the martyrs, the social leaders and all the ecclesial communities that animate Amazonian life is honored.

This symbol will be visible in all Meeting materials: invitations, documents, social media, broadcasts, and graphic elements, as an expression of a spirituality of communion, care for our Common Home, and empowerment of peoples.

A sign of hope in motion

For CEAMA, the logo is not just an image, but a spirituality in motionIt is a sign of a Church project that is not imposed, but rather is it weaves and grows from the ground up, with the peoples, with their knowledge, their languages, their rituals, their rivers and their dreams.

It is also a reminder that we are still on the journey, that synodality is an ongoing process, and that the Spirit continues to call us to walk together with humility, courage and joy.

One leaf, one river, one cross… One Spirit that animates our steps as an outward-moving Amazonian Church.
