The Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) expressed its deep sympathy and solidarity with the Venezuelan people, especially with the communities affected by the earthquake, which has caused loss of life, property damage, and profound suffering in various regions of the country.

In a message addressed to the Church and the people of Venezuela, CEAMA affirmed that, as a Church with an Amazonian identity—united by the bonds of faith, fraternity, and care for life—it offers spiritual support to those who are currently facing this painful reality.

The Conference offered its prayers for the deceased, for those who have been injured, for the families who have lost their homes, and for all those facing the consequences of this emergency, trusting that the Lord will strengthen their hearts and renew their hope.

It also expressed its gratitude to the ecclesial communities, relief organizations, authorities, volunteers, and people of good will who, with generosity and a spirit of service, are working tirelessly to assist the victims, provide humanitarian aid, and stand by those who need it most.

From the Amazon region, CEAMA reaffirmed its commitment to a culture of encounter and solidarity, recalling that times of greatest difficulty are also an opportunity to strengthen fraternity among peoples and promote concrete gestures of closeness, compassion, and mutual support.

Finally, the Conference entrusted the Venezuelan people to the God of life, asking Him to grant strength to those who suffer, wisdom to those coordinating response and reconstruction efforts, and hope to all affected communities.

“May the intercession of Mary, Mother of Hope, accompany Venezuela and allow everyone to feel God’s consolation in the midst of adversity,” concludes the message from the Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon.
