The Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) calls on all communities, parishes, religious congregations, and the faithful in the Amazon region to join with faith and hope in the Day of Prayer for Peace called by Pope Leo XIV for next Saturday, April 11.
In a global context marked by conflict, violence, and uncertainty, this day represents an opportunity for the Church in the Amazon to raise a single voice to heaven, asking for the gift of peace, reconciliation among peoples, and respect for life in all its forms.
CEAMA encourages Amazonian communities to organize moments of prayer, Eucharistic celebrations, vigils, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and spaces for reflection that integrate the cultural and spiritual richness of the region’s peoples. We especially invite you to include intentions for the most vulnerable communities, for those suffering the consequences of violence, and for the care of our Common Home.
Likewise, it is proposed that this day also be a visible sign of ecclesial communion, where the diversity of the Amazon unites in a single cry for peace, strengthening the bonds of fraternity and solidarity.
May this initiative called for by the Holy Father be a seed of hope that sprouts into concrete gestures of reconciliation, justice, and mutual care in our territories.
