The Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) welcomes with joy and hope the appointment of Ximena Lombana as the new Executive Secretary of the Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network (REPAM).

In a message addressed to Ximena, CEAMA expressed its closeness, support, and best wishes for this new stage of ecclesial service:

“We know of your commitment, experience, and sensitivity, and we trust that you will contribute decisively to strengthening the synodal, territorial, and prophetic path of our beloved Amazon.”

Ximena Lombana has more than 15 years of experience in pastoral and social work in the Amazon, especially in the Southern Vicariate in Caquetá, Florencia, Colombia. Trained in social service, she specializes in gender and development and has worked in key areas such as the environment, family health, water and territorial protection, combating violence against women, and promoting human rights.

Ximena currently serves as an advisor for the Cultural Dream at the Center for Pastoral Action Programs and Networks (CEPRAP) in the CELAM renewal process. She also has extensive experience with REPAM: she participated in the first Human Rights School in Coca (Ecuador), is a member of the Network’s Human Rights Core, and collaborates with its advocacy committee.

Since their creation, CEAMA and REPAM have walked together, in communion, in defense of the Common Home and the Amazonian peoples, weaving networks of solidarity and hope in the territory:

“We count on your availability to continue coordinating efforts in communion and synodality, for the care of our Common Home and the life of our peoples. May the Holy Spirit guide each of your steps and strengthen your vocation in this new calling.”

From CEAMA, we renew our commitment to continue working alongside REPAM in this shared mission for a vibrant, just, and peaceful Amazon.
