The Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) expressed its fraternal greetings and sincere congratulations to the new National Board of Directors 2025–2028 of the Ecuadorian Conference of Religious (CER), elected during the 47th Extraordinary General Assembly, recently held in a spirit of communion and service to the Kingdom.

In its official message, CEAMA, presided over by Cardinal Pedro Barreto, SJ, and Executive Secretary Marcelo A. Lemos, highlighted the importance of the prophetic witness of Consecrated Life in Ecuador and its commitment to ecclesial processes in the spirit of a synodal, ministerial, and inculturated Church.

“We trust that the Holy Spirit will guide the new Board—chaired by Brother Roberto Duarte, SVD—in continuing the paths of renewal and prophecy that Consecrated Life witnesses to in Ecuador and throughout the Amazon region,” CEAMA said.

The institution also expressed its gratitude to the outgoing Board for its generous dedication and for having strengthened the bonds of pastoral collaboration with the Amazonian ecclesial authorities. It also reaffirmed its desire to continue weaving together paths of communion, justice, and care for our Common Home, in fidelity to the Gospel and the spirit of the Synod for the Amazon.

CEAMA entrusted the new Board of Directors to the intercession of Mary, Woman of the Amazon, to accompany this new time of ecclesial service, encouraging the evangelizing zeal of Consecrated Life in Ecuador.

“Consecrated Life continues to be a shining sign of hope for the Amazonian peoples, called to care for life in all its forms and to proclaim the Kingdom with joy and prophecy.”
