His Holiness:
I believe that the amazement and surprise of God float in your heart at this moment… The message we send you from ‘Dear Amazonia’ is courage, confidence, communion and compassion…
What do we expect from you, Your Holiness?
May your starting point always be the Gospel… it is what makes all things new, what allows the freedom to be guided by the Divine Ruah.
May the human be the line that guides your feet, hands, head and heart, to meet the God who is incarnated among the poor and the last.
May the universality of your actions promote the common good, peace, fraternity and justice, calling us to walk together in our diversities, weaknesses and capacities, in building bridges that help us overcome the difficult times that lie ahead.
May your disciple’s ear awaken your heart every morning to hear the cries of the earth, the poor and wounded humanity.
May your mouth carry a word of comfort to those who are fallen and marginalized on the roads, but be a voice of denunciation against the powers of death, which diminish lives in the name of a failed power.
May your hands be generous to “receive and give” the blessing that so many ask of you and be agile to embrace many crucified…
May your feet touch the earth like a generous mother and let us walk together, to the rhythm of the Spirit of God, who expects boldness in times of inertia, hope in times of despair and joy in times of sadness…
May your heart beat to the rhythm of the hearts of the poor, God’s favorites, be compassionate to the marginalized and inclusive to all who seek you.
May your lap be that of a generous, attentive woman and disciple of Master Jesus.
His Holiness:
From the Dear Amazon We ask you to be our ally, in the defense of what is most sacred to us: “life, land and rights.”
From the Dear Amazon the We ask that you walk with us, believing that the Amazon follows the new paths for the Church and for an Integral Ecology. We need you to help us embody synodality in action, “Church people of God on the way.”
From the Dear Amazon, we welcome you with an open heart to love you, to follow paths of communion, participation and mission.
May our ancestors inspire you and those who preceded you in this ministry bless you today and always.
