He General Framework of the Amazonian Rite It is the fruit of a process of ecclesial discernment promoted by the Synod for the Amazon (2019) and developed within the Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA), with the close accompaniment of the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. This framework seeks to respond to the cries of the Amazonian peoples, integrating their languages, symbols, worldviews and their own forms of relationship with the Creator in the Catholic liturgy, without losing communion with the universal Church.
During the day, the theological and pastoral foundations that support the elaboration of this rite were presented, and testimonies of the process of consultation and participation with local communities, indigenous peoples and pastoral agents were shared.
This presentation marks a milestone in the reception of the Amazonian Rite in Bolivia and strengthens the commitment of the local clergy with an inculturated evangelization, respectful of cultural identities and deeply rooted in the territory.
CEAMA reaffirms its commitment to continue accompanying local Churches on this path of liturgical and pastoral renewal, in fidelity to the Gospel and in dialogue with the Amazonian peoples.
