The Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) and the Latin American Confederation of Religious (CLAR) cordially invite you to participate in the Meeting of Religious Life in the Amazon, which will take place on October 16, 2025, virtually, via the Zoom platform.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. (COL) | 7:00 p.m. (BOL, VZ, Manaus) | 8:00 p.m. (Brasilia) and will feature the participation of religious men and women from across the Amazon region, who will share their experiences, challenges, and hopes in a space of communion and community discernment.

A step on CEAMA’s synodal journey

This meeting is part of the broad consultation process being carried out by CEAMA to formulate its synodal apostolic horizons, which will be defined at its General Assembly in March 2026. The consultation seeks to gather the voices and testimonies of the various ecclesial expressions present in the Amazon, ensuring that CEAMA’s journey is deeply rooted in the life of the communities and in the richness of their charisms.

In this sense, Religious Life—with its closeness to the people, its presence in border territories, and its commitment to the care of our Common Home and the defense of life—plays a key role in building a Church with an Amazonian and synodal face.

A space for communion and listening

The Meeting of Religious Life in the Amazon will be a privileged space for listening, sharing, and discerning together. There, the cries and dreams of religious men and women who, through their mission, accompany the most diverse realities of the region—indigenous, riverine, rural, and urban communities—will be gathered.

It will also be an opportunity to strengthen the communion between CEAMA and CLAR, building bridges that will allow us to continue advancing in the proclamation of the Gospel and the promotion of justice, peace, and care for creation.

An open invitation

CEAMA and CLAR invite all religious who serve in the Amazon to join this meeting, convinced that only through dialogue, mutual listening, and synodality will it be possible to respond to the great challenges facing the region.

“The Spirit continues to impel us to walk together, as a Church that goes forth, with hearts open to the cries and hopes of the Amazon and its peoples.”
