The Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA), together with the Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network (REPAM), the Ecclesial Network for Intercultural Bilingual Education in the Amazon (REIBA), the Amazonian University Program (PUAM), the Pan-Amazonian Jesuit Service (SJPAM), and the Latin American and Caribbean Confederation of Men and Women Religious (CLAR), invite you to the webinar series “A Church with an Amazonian Face on the Path to FOSPA 2026,” a space for formation, reflection, and ecclesial collaboration in preparation for the 12th Pan-Amazonian Social Forum (FOSPA).

The first virtual meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, with the aim of exploring in depth the identity of a Church with an Amazonian Face that accompanies the social, ecological, and cultural processes of the Amazon through the spirituality of the Gospel and integral ecology.

This initiative seeks to strengthen reflection on how the Amazonian Church lives out synodality incarnated in the territories, where indigenous peoples, women, young people, laypeople, and ministers walk together, discerning new paths for evangelization, the defense of life, and the care of our Common Home.

A Church That Walks with the Peoples

The first session will be led by Fr. Agnaldo Junior, SJ, a Jesuit priest and Socio-Environmental Delegate of the Conference of Jesuit Provincials of Latin America and the Caribbean (CPAL), who will address the building of a Church with an Amazonian face from the perspective of synodality, listening, and commitment to the peoples and territories of the Amazon.

His reflection will delve into the spirituality of integral ecology inspired by the encyclical *Laudato Si’* and the guidelines of the Synod for the Amazon, promoting an ecological conversion that integrates faith, territory, and socio-environmental justice.

The Legacy of the Amazon Synod for FOSPA

The second segment of the webinar will feature Sr. Rose Bertoldo, of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, current executive secretary of CNBB Regional North 1, and a member of the REPAM Women’s Group and the CEAMA Ministry Commission.

Sister Bertoldo will share reflections on “The Contribution of the Amazon Synod to FOSPA,” highlighting the processes of participation, listening, and empowerment of the Amazonian peoples promoted by the synodal journey. She will also address the contribution of women in building a Church committed to the defense of human rights, the prevention of violence, the fight against human trafficking, and the integral care of life.

Toward the 12th Pan-Amazonian Social Forum

The webinar series “A Church with an Amazonian Face: Toward FOSPA 2026” is part of the preparatory process for the 12th Pan-Amazonian Social Forum, to be held in August 2026 in Puyo, Ecuador, and seeks to strengthen coordination among social organizations, indigenous peoples, ecclesial communities, and various actors committed to defending the Amazon.

For the organizing institutions, this educational program aims to provide insights and practical steps to continue building a Samaritan, synodal, and prophetic Church—one that listens to the cry of the peoples and the earth, and actively contributes to the search for alternatives for a vibrant, just, and sustainable Amazon.
