The Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network (REPAM) joyfully celebrates its 11 years of existence, a journey of service, listening, and commitment in defense of life, the Amazonian peoples, and creation.

On this special day, Bishop Rafael Cob, Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puyo and President of REPAM, expressed a message of gratitude and hope:

“Certainly, 11 years of journey are a blessing from the Lord for us, and even more so in this jubilee year, as we are messengers and pilgrims of hope. REPAM is giving hope to many peoples and is also listening to those cries of hope that so many need.”

During his greeting, Monsignor Cob highlighted the importance of persevering on this path of faith, communion, and care for creation, especially in this Month of Creation:

“Creation is our teacher and invites us every day to learn from it, to praise God for all that he has given us, and to ask the Holy Spirit to guide, transform, and liberate our communities, so that together we may walk in a fraternal, missionary, and synodal Church.”

The President of REPAM also called for the defense of the Amazon as the lungs of the world and an invaluable gift of biodiversity, in the context of preparations for COP 30:

“May we raise our voices in favor of human rights, nature, and the peoples who inhabit this wonderful Amazon.”

Finally, Monsignor Cob thanked all the people and institutions who, with love and commitment, walk alongside REPAM in the defense of life, justice, and hope.

Happy anniversary, REPAM! 11 years walking together for our Common Home.
